Gobble gobble

Got my bird first thing opening morning for Indiana. My buddy roosted him for me, and I set up about 100yd away. He flew down to my decoys, got aggitated with the tom, turned a few times, then walked straight away. By the time I got the gun on the shooting stick, I had to kill him at 45yds. He dropped like a rock. He was 21#, 7/8" & 3/4" spurs, and had 10" beard.

Good shootin'! That's a nice bird, an old dude. Here's the recipe. Put in baking pan for four hours on medium heat. Pour in two bottles of wine. Remove bird, throw it away and drink the wine. :-)

Why take 4 hours to drink the wine. Take a picture of the bird, open the two bottles of wine and while they breath, give away the bird to the homeless and start drinking.

Lol. Wild turkey is good!!! As we speak, I got the breasts in the smoker. Rubbed with a brown sugar mix, drizzled with honey, then wrapped with bacon.

Then the small ends of the breasts and small chunks will be battered and pan fried.

Will try to get a pic and outcome.
