Re: One last day

I have a small spot of cancer to be removed off my arm next week and am just worn out. The below zero temps have not helped the end of the season. I reflect back and am s...

Re: I think I have lost my Coyote Juju

This is not being a smart a*& but maybe if you are calling the same way at the same spots, they have learned. If you call in three coyotes and only see one and shot, there other two will get an education. If this happens often enough , pretty soon I would assume the local coyotes will be call sh...

Re: 6MM for cow elk ? good choice ?

If you can get in and get a good shot, Neck, behind shoulder, etc. the 6 mm should be fine. A friend of mine and his nephew , got in on a herd on flat land and at 130 yds, the 6.5 Creedmore worked fine. with factory 129s. I believe you Barnes will be more then enough .

Re: something to add to the collection

My first elk was a 1.75 mile pack out. There was 2200 ft of up hill from the truck to the carcass. You know it is rough terrain, when it takes twice as long to go from truck to carcass then to haul quarters back down. Shot that bull on a Saturday at noon and got the last quarter out on Monday mornin...

Re: something to add to the collection

I think I have perfected elk packing..... this year I shot a diseased cow and literally had a 100 yd drag with four wheeler, no effort, to a truck parked against a dirt bank. then it was a matter of sliding her , 4 ft into the bed . Last year was an 85 yd pack to my truck. The ones that cover miles ...

Re: A day elk hunting

The results came back on the cow, she tested positive for CWD..... I have watched to many zombie movies to eat diseased animals and am happy she was put down. I hope there is not a big problem with it spreading to far though!!!!!!
